We are 25% there

At 6 AM this morning (April 2nd) we completed the first 25% of 2007 (if my calculations are correct). Even if my calculations happen to be off, my point here is the same. Three months of this year are gone, we don’t get them back. You spent this time doing something. What was it? Was it valuable? Did it create lasting effects?

Scripture tells us “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9

In my experience Philippians 4:8 is often quoted on its own, but when you add verse 9 to it we are called not to just think about those things, but to live them. What have you done with the last three months? Was your life filled with what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable? What will you do with the next three months? Don’t just think about those things, make a choice, take a risk, and live them! I pray as you draw nearer to God you are making choices that have long lasting positive effects, even eternal effects on those around you. May the next 25% of 2007 be an incredible time in your life!
