Walking in the Spirit

October 16, 2008

I have been asking a lot of questions lately about how to walk as a Christian. Some people have knowledge about Christianity and can give all the right answers. Some people have a conviction and faith, seeking to have a personal belief in Christ. Having the knowledge and a belief doesn’t mean we know how to live as a Christian.

“If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit” Galatians 5:25 ESV

It doesn’t matter how long we have held the knowledge and beliefs if we are not living by the Spirit. Living by the spirit should result in our lives being poured out, and our walk growing in depth and maturing. Sometimes we need to take a step back to look at how we are living, and if we are walking.

Are you living a life that is embracing God’s truth, seeking his ways, and aiming to mature and grow? How are you living to make those things happen? Are the choices and efforts you are taking based on your ideas or the truths God puts in his word? Today, I choose to seek God a little more than I did yesterday, and open myself up a little more to His ways and His people. I can’t always take big steps forward, but whether an inch or a mile we should be seeking to take one more step forward to walk in the spirit.
